A Day in the Madden Life: Natasha, Senior Account Manager

What’s your morning routine? Do you have a WFH routine?

It’s important to start the day doing something for yourself. For me, that could be journaling, reading, watering my plants or stretching.

The next order of business is a massive coffee, accompanied by the Fear and Greed podcast while I’m getting ready for the day. I have also been putting on a New Zealand business podcast afterwards – currently, that’s RNZ Business News.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No such thing! However, each day usually starts reading – lots and lots of reading. Emails first to check for anything urgent, then Australian and New Zealand news, newsletters from various trade publications, and the to-do list I wrote the day before to jog my memory.

Then it’s on to our morning team call, after which I pick the biggest task on my list, put ‘blinders’ on and get stuck in. Recently I’ve been working on lots of content development and thought leadership for a client, as well as planning for our first in-person media event since The Before Times!

Could you talk about the latest thing you’re working on that excites you?

Today we held our first in-person media event in ages, and it has been a long time in the making. It’s exciting to see things ramping up again, and there’s nothing like that in-person format when it comes to events.

Another cool thing is the co-working space I recently joined in Christchurch. Sometimes it’s helpful to change up the scenery – there are days when I’m more productive at home and days when I work better in an office environment. Being able to have that flexibility has been a game-changer.

 What’s your number one rule?

My Fitbit helps me with this one, but it’s to move every hour, at least. Tea breaks, snack breaks, walking-around-the-house breaks. They matter, and they add up! If I don’t move often enough, I find my joints complaining at the end of the day…
